Aladdin Monitor: Readme

This document describes enhancements, issues addressed and other relevant information for the Aladdin Monitor.

Version 1.4.2 (January 2010)

Supported Platforms

• Windows XP, Windows Server 2003, Windows Vista, Windows 7, and Windows Server 2008 (32-bit and 64-bit)
• Windows Server 2008 R2
• Windows 2000 (32-bit)

Enhancements

• The Aladdin Monitor is now supported under Windows 7 (32-bit and 64-bit), Windows 2008 R2, Windows Vista Service Pack 1 (32-bit and 64-bit), Windows Server 2008 (32-bit and 64-bit), and Windows XP Service Pack 3

Note

For Windows Vista Service Pack 1 x64 and Windows Server 2008 x64, existing Windows settings may prevent the application from being correctly launched.

Workaround

1. Open the Systems Properties dialog box.
2. On the Advanced tabbed page, under Performance, select Settings.
3. In the Performance Options dialog box, click the Data Execution Prevention tab.
4. Select the option Turn on DEP for all programs and services except those I select.
5. Click Add; then browse to and select your protected application.

Known Issues

The Aladdin Monitor help file (aksmon.hlp) cannot be read under the Windows Vista or later operating systems.

Workaround

Go to http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=917607 and follow the instructions for your operating system to download and install WinHlp32.exe.
